Nestled 30 miles west of Austin and about 75 miles from San Antonio, Pedernales Falls State Park invites you to experience the tranquil beauty of the Texas Hill Country. The Pedernales River, flowing gracefully over limestone slabs, creates a serene atmosphere for relaxation and adventure.
Explore a variety of scenic Hill Country trails, ranging from the easy .5-mile Twin Falls Nature Trail to the challenging. We created a 15 mile hike at this Texas State Park. Cyclists can test their skills on the new 10-mile Juniper Ridge Trail, designed for advanced riders.

A scenic overlook at the north end of the park provides a stunning view of the 300-million-year-old Pedernales Falls, showcasing the geological wonders of the Marble Falls formation.
Covering 5,212 acres in Blanco County, the park was once the Circle Bar Ranch, offering typical Edwards Plateau terrain. Wildlife enthusiasts will encounter white-tailed deer, coyotes, rabbits, armadillos, skunks, opossums, raccoons, and over 150 bird species.
Pedernales Falls State Park beckons those seeking an escape into nature, providing a perfect blend of scenic beauty, diverse trails, and geological marvels. Lace up your boots or grab your bike, and immerse yourself in this natural haven, where tranquility meets adventure.
We finished the hike at Texas hill country town of Johnson City, TX at Pecan Street Brewery. We loved the food, clean bathrooms, and atmosphere.
